Certificates

All our WLAN products meet the ETSI/CE specifications and certificates of conformity are available on request.

FCC (USA) rules are different. Each WLAN product must be certified by an FCC approved test laboratory. When the WLAN product has separate antenna, the FCC Grant of Authorization for the product will specify the maximum antenna gain that may be used. As long as the OEM installer follows the specification, no other testing - other than Part 15 spurious emissions for digital devices - is needed.

Most of our products have FCC approval. We have two kind of FCC approvals:
1. Approval for the end product as such. Then FCC ID is marked on the label.
2. Approval for the WLAN radio inside our modules or products. Then the label states "Contains FCC ID: xxxx"

If you market your products in USA contact our sales for correct product version and FCC ID number. In some cases we need to preconfigure the WLAN radio for either FCC or ETSI operation. This applies mainly to Atheros chipset-based products. If you market your products worldwide and want to use Atheros-based WLAN's, then it is necessary for you to define at ordering FCC, ETSI and other standards quantities.
Ralink chipset-based products are user programmable for any worldwide standard, so with those products there is no need for preconfiguration.

FCC test reports are available at https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm?calledFromFrame=N

Note that all our WLAN products meet the FCC specification even if no official tests have been made by an FCC approved test laboratory. In some cases our customers apply themselves for FCC approval for their equipment containing our not officially tested WLAN products.

Some other regions require also local approvals for WLAN products. In such cases approvals are usually applied case-by-case for types in question either directly by the customer or by our local partner. For instance we have Australian approvals for certain products. Australian regulations are based on ETSI with some variations in requirements.
Please contact our sales for further information if you have this kind of situation.

In general, ETSI/CE and FCC cover approval requirements in most countries.
